Important Update on Dais Office Hours and Position Papers
Hello all! This post is meant to inform you all of our Office Hours availability the week of February 21st, what to do if you haven't submitted your position paper yet, and the future schedule of this blog for the remainder of the month.
Newsletters
Firstly, you will be emailed one of many newsletters on important announcements about committee structure and general advice on preparation for the conference - with delegates continuing to register for SPECPOL, we will post these newsletters on our commitee page for your future reference. Be sure to look out for this, as it contains important information regarding format of committee, information on position papers, and more!
Position Paper Deadlines - Update
To that end, position papers to be considered for research awards have been submitted as of this past weekend - if you would still like to have your paper considered, email specpolbmunlxx@bmun.org to ask for an extension (we actively want to be considerate of your time on this!).
Otherwise, the general position paper deadline (to be eligible for in-committee awards) is EOD 2/12 this weekend via Huxley. Ask your advisor for your login information! If you need an extension, this can also be given through a quick email to our dais.
For feedback on papers to guide your research and general preparation for our discussion on decolonization, we will attempt to get feedback to you all by 2/20 EOD save for late papers with extensions.
Dais Office Hours
To assist with your continued understanding of these topics before committee, our dais will be holding open office hours 2/21 (Monday) and 2/26 (Saturday), from 12 to 2 pm via Zoom to discuss feedback on your papers or any larger questions you may have about conference weekend! Find availability for this Office Hours through our Calendly linked here.
Finally, this blog will be updated each week by our chairs with important logistical updates like these, as well as discussion posts on recent articles related to our topics; feel free to read through these to assist your writing, and comment any thoughts on that post! Our first instance of this will be posted soon, so keep a close watch!
Best,
BMUN SPECPOL
